This year Connect did not organise the classic company dinner for its employees, but a very special summer weekend.
To kick off the upcoming summer holidays for everyone, Connect invited its colleagues to spend two days together to meet and take a moment to strengthen team spirit, a value in which the company relies greatly.
On Friday, 16th June, colleagues from Milan and Madrid travelled to Rome, where our headquarters are located, to meet with Roman colleagues. Then we went to rest in Carsoli, in the countryside of the Abruzzo region.
We gathered around a large table in our hotel restaurant to chat, greet each other and catch up. It was also a precious moment for the newcomers, who had the opportunity to meet their future colleagues.
After an impromptu chess tournament between DEVs, the afternoon was dedicated to sport and relaxation. Exercise enthusiasts competed in paddle tennis and tennis matches on the courts of our hotel’s sports centre. The “laziest” enjoyed the sun and the greenery of the surrounding mountains in the cool waters of the pool.
We couldn’t miss an aperitif all together by the pool to enjoy the last hours of sunshine and, after having enjoyed the day just past, plan the next Summer Event (who knows if we will fly abroad)!
The evening continued with a quiet dinner and the talks, anecdotes, advice for heart problems of our colleagues and tango classes continued until 3 in the morning (for the most daring!).
The next day, Saturday, 17th June, As true hikers, we set out to visit the Caves of Pietrasecca, a short distance away, in the centre of Carsoli. A little gem nestled in the Nature Reserve. We divided into two shifts and, armed with boots and helmets, we took a walk through the forest and descended into the coolness of the cave: rich in stalagmites and stalactites. Our environmental guides, super experienced and passionate, made us experience a unique moment after the notions imparted: by turning off the lanterns that guided us, we were able to savour a moment of peaceful silence in total darkness!
At the end of our visits, we could not miss a pleasant outdoor barbecue. With ideal, almost spring-like temperatures and radiant, warm sunshine, we relaxed and concluded our Summer Event around a table with good food, good wine and good people.
Finally, our President greeted us with the long-awaited speech in which he recounted the evolution of the company, recalled the objectives for the coming years and instilled positivism and passion for the fruitful future that awaits us.
METHOD, INTERACTION AND PASSION are the three cornerstones that enhance our team and our work.
